Specialist one-to-one support to help apprentices succeed
Access Your Ability provides specialist mentoring and study skills support for apprentices as an Access Support Partner.
Apprenticeships can create different challenges from traditional classroom-based learning. Apprentices may need to manage learning alongside the demands of the workplace, regularly move between different environments and tasks, learn and retain large amounts of new information, work with new people and manage changing expectations.
For apprentices with additional learning needs, neurodivergence, mental health needs or other barriers to learning, the right individual support can make a significant difference.
Our specialists work one-to-one with apprentices to understand the barriers they are experiencing and develop practical strategies that work for them while they manage learning and workplace demands.

Our aim is not simply to help an apprentice manage a particular task. We help them develop strategies and skills they can continue to use throughout their apprenticeship and beyond.

Access Your Ability has extensive experience providing specialist one-to-one support to people with a wide range of needs.

Complex and overlapping support needs
We recognise that two apprentices with the same diagnosis or identified need may experience very different barriers.

Access Your Ability is an Access Support Partner, providing specialist Non-Medical Help support as part of the wider Access Support apprenticeship service.
Access Support brings together specialist organisations with complementary expertise, giving training providers access to coordinated apprenticeship support through a single point of contact.
Depending on the apprentice's needs, the wider Access Support service can include:

This allows training providers to access a joined-up package of specialist support or individual services that complement their existing provision.

Flexible support for training providers
Every training provider is different.
Some already have established learning-support teams and need additional specialist expertise or capacity. Others may want support with several stages of the process.
Through the Access Support Partner Network, support can be built around what the training provider and apprentice actually need, rather than requiring a one-size-fits-all package.
Access Support acts as the primary point of contact for the wider partnership, coordinating the appropriate specialist support where required.
